Coordinated the SUN program, making calls in English and Spanish to help local parents find and fund their child’s summer camp experience. Conducted follow up calls with families in Spanish, English, and Portuguese to evaluate their children’s health and nutrition intake. Connected each parent to housing, nutrition, and education resources as needed. Attended and helped behind the scenes at several “racial justice in medicine” workshops for clinical and non-clinical providers led by SJPHC leaders.
Responded to Emergencies alongside Fire and Police Departments in Chelsea, Everett and Somerville. Assessed patient condition, and provided appropriate and timely medical interventions. Often using Spanish in order to provide care in patients’ native language.
Responsible for writing, distributing, collecting and analyzing feedback forms for statewide prevention events to improve future programming. Assisted in the preparation for the statewide Communities First Prevention Summit attended by over 120 people. Participated in the Brotherhood of Strength, a Rape Crisis Center’s men's group focused on building positive masculinities in the Lowell and Lawrence area.
Monitored vitals while transporting patients between hospital facilities. Focused on engaging positively with patients while maintaining comfort and safety. Completed accurate and timely Patient Care Reports. Ensured that the ambulance was always appropriately stocked and cleaned.
Head Counselor of 20 staff and 80 campers, ages 8-10 years old. Trained and supported staff members, while also acting as intermediary between administration and staff. Planned and executed both educational and fun activities for over 80 campers ages 8-10 years old. Instructed swim lessons as a Certified Red Cross instructor for campers aged 8-14.
