About

Ben Voit studied Applied Media Sciences at TU Ilmenau, Photojournalism at LTU Melbourne and Directing at Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. In addition to hybrid, fictional and documentary films, he has realized photo essays in over 30 countries and works as a freelance filmmaker in Berlin. His multi-award-winning film NIGHT UPON KEPLER 452b screened in competition at 40+ international festivals e.g. Clermont-Ferrand ISFF, Busan ISFF, Film Fest Gent, DOK Leipzig, Interfilm and was nominated best short film of 2020 by the German Film Critics' Association. His recent film THE COMMON ORDER celebrated its world premiere in competition at the Oscar qualifying PÖFF Shorts | Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn, was selected Short Film Market Pick of 2022 by Clermont-Ferrand ISFF and got nominated for Best Production at Sehsüchte ISFF. His first feature-length film GROPIUSSTADT SUPERNOVA is currently being completed. The adrenaline-fueled thriller is based on true events and is dedicated to his friend Luan, who found out about his brother's impending deportation and tried everything to get him out of trouble.
