I have experience contributing across the full Battery Energy Storage System lifecycle, from early-stage feasibility through procurement, design, construction, commissioning, and operational support. I particularly enjoy collaborating with stakeholders to define system requirements, procure equipment, and implement robust, high-quality designs. My background is strongly technology-focused with an electrical engineering bias, built on years of experience in the design and manufacturing industries. Working in the R&D department of a variable frequency drive manufacturer gave me a deep understanding of product certification, qualification, and compliance, expertise I have since applied to BESS equipment standards and grid compliance. I take a proactive, delivery-focused approach to projects, maintaining momentum while balancing technical excellence with practical outcomes.
Delivering the full suite of services from the energy storage team, technical due diligence, owners engineering, Principal Designer and procurement support. Naturally focused on electrical and grid aspects.
Developing BESS at both distribution and transmission level including site surveying, conceptual design, production of site specifications, technology assessment, control system design and commissioning planning and implementation. Also involved in off shoot projects including synchronous condensers and mobile battery units.
Technical lead of a test team responsible for validation and verification of the in- house design of Variable Frequency Drives, specialising in Electro Magnetic Compatibility testing of products.
Product development of continuous form high speed digital inkjet printers, resolving Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Environment challenges associated with their application. Key role in product training across global teams through company training academy.
