Beam (portfolio company of Sequoia Capital) is the largest micro-mobility player to the US$2B untapped APAC market. Led business-critical projects across verticals including Ops, Strategy, GR, and BD. Aided in the launch of 3 new markets, and the formulation of official government proposals for 7 ANZ cities. (1) Operations - Single-handedly led the launch of Western Australia’s first e-scooter trial, scaled up to a US$XM ARR business. Formulated KPIs and PnL for launch success; designed a lean “remote operations" model with strategic planning of deployment spots including setting up a low fixed costs warehouse facility and processes to enhance operational efficiency. Resulted in a profitable business from a -30% to +10% net revenue gain model. (2) Strategy - Identified launch markets and developed strategy overviews through massive reorganization of geospatial data and research of cities. Successfully won and allocated the largest fleet size in New Zealand amongst others. (3) Government Relations - Key liaison for local government bodies to ensure smooth execution of business operations; generated weekly reports to highlight crucial data points (e.g., user trends and critical escalations), and media spokesperson for Bunbury launch. (4) Business Development - Accelerated B2B growth in ANZ. Secured 8+ innovative partnership deals with hyper-local business partners - key partners include Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. (5) Team Management - Managed conflict and legal risks when dealing with independent contractors in Australia. Led a team of over 30 through staff training, task generation/prioritisation, and payroll organisation. (6) Cross-functional collaborations e.g., led the innovation of a solar-powered e-scooter charging station with Specialised Solar Solutions, Australia’s leader in prefabricated solar structures (7) Executed data analyses with self-formulated queries and dashboards for > 2M rows of data; invited to join “Beam SQL Training Mentors”.
