Pushing AI with Light.
• Transferring Photonic Machine Learning / Photonic Neuromorphic Computing from an academic discipline to an industry-ready solution • Management, coordination, and processing of applied research projects in the field of Photonic Machine Learning / Photonic Neuromorphic Computing • Development of the applied research field with a focus on commercialization of results with industrial partners • Creating, building, and experimentally validating new designs and ideas in prototypes and minimal viable products
Scientific advisor in the office of Harald Ebner (Member of the German Parliament, MdB) • Translated complex technical reports into actionable summaries for non-technical stakeholders, enhancing decision-making processes within an interdisciplinary policy team • Curated and prepared comprehensive content to equip the MP for appointments, interviews, and panel discussions
• Published three experimental papers by developing, setting up, and operating complex optical systems integrated with high-speed electronics • Established new techniques such as real-time heterodyne detection and pulsed multi-frequency signals in the group by characterizing optical instruments and executing calibration campaigns • Accelerated measurements by automating and standardizing data processing chains with MATLAB-based data acquisition frameworks and Python-based data processing and machine learning tools • Delivered seven engaging oral presentations at four international conferences by converting intricate experimental data into engaging Keynotes • Co-lead the first "Photonic Machine Learning" seminar at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg
• Published machine learning based method for rapid and spatially resolved μLED photometric characterization, reducing evaluation time and leading to a more precise assessment of display like light sources • Validated μLED array technical requirements by creating custom photometric characterization protocols and Python-based processing algorithms
