Repowering ('transforming') the 1976 Claus B Powerstation into a state-of-the-art CCGT of 1300 MWe named Claus C. Project completed within budget (1085 mln) and planning (4 months ahead). Overall responsible from the actual start in 2006 to start of commercial operation per 2012. Topics include permitting, conceptual design, basic & detailed engineering, HSE, contractmanagement, construction, commissioning, hand-over and aftercare. 'Good Safety = Good Business' demonstrated: Two times winner of the overall RWE/Essent HSE Award (2009 & 2011). On 4,4 mln working hours just 2 safety incidents (LTIF = 0,44) During its 1st year of commercial operation in 2012, Claus C directly achieved an availability of 92,7% thereby showing its quality level right from the start.
Asbestos sanitising of both Amer 6 as well as Amer 7 (common building) followed up by inspections and engineering modification required to restart Amer 7 after 10 years of standstill. Project stopped at Final Investment Decision. Budget 30 mln; approx 300.000 working hours

Premix Combustion enables a 100% conversion of toxic gases into CO2 and water; diffuse 'candle-light' flares are limited to 85%.
