I worked in the Construction Engineering Global Business Unit, supporting Oracle's Textura Payment Management solution, which is a (Python) cloud service that streamlines and automates processes, mitigating risk, reducing cost, and improving cash flow. - During my 3 years here I grew from sustaining to a feature development team where I worked on the financial services (fees, ach payments), using a lot of web APIs (Django/ Flask + SQLAlchemy). - I also delivered company-wide Python training ("how to write more Pythonic code"), wrote documentation on testing, interviewed job candidates, broke down feature cases for other developers, and mentored people individually with their Python skills. - The dev teams were in Chicago, US and India, so being the only developer working remotely from Spain required excellent communication and documentation skills. - I also developed tools for the global HR learning department, most noticeable the O’Reilly / LinkedIn email notification service (Python) which notifies employees about new learning content (usage grew to ~1,000 employees world wide).
- Developed RapidSR X86 solution (Python) which automates ~40% of Service Requests saving significant costs. - Developed ASRExacheck configuration checker tool (Python) to increase hands-off logging of Service Requests. - Developed several automation performance monitoring tools. - Created a Safaribooks Email Alert service (Python / Apex) to promote its usage by notifying users of new books. - Contributed to Big Data project (ETL part). - Helped creating a small Software Team using development best practices like version control, automated testing and standardization. - Mentoring of new developers. - Becoming a reference in the org for Python learning.
- Created several support web tools that parse server health telemetry for service requests logged by customers. The toolset has become a staple for hundreds of support engineers worldwide and saved the org thousands of hours of manual labor and significantly reduced time to resolution.
