I am Assoc. Prof. Dr. Barış GÜZEL, a researcher at TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM), working at the intersection of environmental science, analytical chemistry, and sustainable technologies. My research focuses on understanding the occurrence, fate, and impacts of environmental contaminants and translating scientific knowledge into practical solutions that support environmental protection, public health, and sustainable development. With extensive experience in applied environmental research and interdisciplinary R&D, I contribute to national and international research initiatives, including collaborations aligned with European research frameworks and innovation programs. My work integrates advanced analytical techniques, environmental monitoring, and risk assessment approaches to address emerging environmental challenges and support science-based decision making. At TÜBİTAK MAM, I actively contribute to large-scale research and innovation projects, where my role spans from scientific research and analytical method development to project coordination, technical reporting, and stakeholder engagement. Through these activities, I work closely with academia, public institutions, and industry partners to ensure that scientific outcomes are effectively translated into policy-relevant knowledge and real-world applications. My research interests particularly focus on emerging contaminants and environmental exposure, including the occurrence, analytical determination, and environmental behavior of anthropogenic chemicals in various environmental and food matrices. By combining high-resolution analytical methodologies with environmental assessment frameworks, I aim to generate robust datasets that contribute to both scientific advancement and regulatory understanding. I am strongly committed to international collaboration and interdisciplinary research, recognizing that global environmental challenges require coordinated scientific efforts. Through participation in international projects and scientific networks, I strive to contribute to research that not only advances knowledge but also creates measurable societal and environmental impact.
