Renewi is a leading waste-to-product company in the world’s most advanced circular economies – contributing to a sustainable society for all stakeholders. Renewi exclusively focuses on extracting value from waste, its slogan is “Waste no more”. Renewi is established in 2017 after the merger of Shanks and Van Gansewinkel. Within Renewi I’m responsible for all ERP systems operating 200 sites across nine countries, as well as the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). We are now starting up a programme to replace all legacy ERP’s with one new single Digital Core, based on Microsoft Dynamics F&O. Hans Anders is a market leading, value-for-money optical retailer in North-West Europe. The company operates under the Hans Anders, eyes + more and Direkt Optik retail banners, and offers a range of private label and branded spectacles, hearing aids, contact lenses and sunglasses. As International IT Director (CIO) I'm responsible for the IT Operations of the Hans Anders Retail Group (Optical Retail), with 4 offices and more than 650 stores in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Sweden. • (Re)Defined the IT Strategy (based on the Commercial Business Strategy) • Redesigned the team from technical, maintenance oriented, to Business, Improvement oriented (20+ FTE’s and 10+ FTE’s at strategic partners) • Responsible for Architecture, Project & Portfolio Management, Application Management, Infrastructure & Operations, Service Management and Master Data • Implemented Enterprise Asset Management system for Building & Facility Services and IT • Started migration to the Modern Workplace (Office365) • Initiated the migration from the on-premise datacenter to the Cloud • Defined a transformation roadmap to move from legacy systems to futureproof scalable platform • Support and build upon our Omnichannel Strategy (based on Hybris and Salesforce) • Defined an Integration Strategy, leveraging API’s and Microservices
Responsible for the Digital Innovations at our more than 7000 stores worldwide. With our team we are piloting new innovations for our stores of the future. We want to apply our digital concepts to our brick-and-mortar stores as well. We are currently working amongst others on smart customer counters (with IoT devices), advanced shopper analytics, 360 facial scans, frame recommender, lens recommender, etcetera.
Responsible for the Global Business Transformation of GrandVision, a leading worldwide Optical Retailer, operating multiple brands (e.g. Pearle / EyeWish / Vision Express / Apollo-Optik) with over 7000 stores in 40 countries, with an annual sales of € 3.5 billion, employing 37.000 FTE’s (2017), by introducing new Global Capabilities, like Global SAP Retail, Global Business Intelligence (BI), SuccessFactors and API based Middleware. • Build a High Performing team of 25 employees and 20+ contractors. • Defined a Global Template based on SAP Retail with integration to Hybris Omnichannel. • Chaired the Global Design Authority for Process and Data alignment. • Realised a Dual Data Centre infrastructure based on hosted Virtual Private Cloud nodes. • Rolled out the Global Template to the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Chile, supporting over 2000 retail stores. • Rolled out Business Intelligence (BI) Globally (based on SAP HANA). • Rolled out Successfactors Learning globally to 40.000 users in 30+ countries. • Implemented ITIL based support model through outsourced Application Management Services (AMS) in India, with 15 – 20 external support staff.
Responsible for the delivery of Global Solutions, like SAP, for Merck (MSD), a global Health Care company that delivers innovative health solutions through its prescription medicines, vaccines, biologic therapies, animal health, and consumer care products, with an annual sales of $ 47 billion, employing 86.000 FTE’s (2012). At Intervet (part of Akzo-Nobel) I transformed the technical oriented SAP Competence Centre into a business focussed Business Solutions Competence Centre. When Schering-Plough acquired Intervet I was asked to integrate the IT organizations from Schering-Plough and Intervet into a single, process-oriented European SAP Solution Center. When Merck acquired Schering-Plough I was asked split off the Animal Health part of Schering-Plough and to integrate it with the US based Solutions team of Merck. • Managed a team of 23 employees and 10+ contractors, located in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy and the US. • Managed 9 highly regulated SAP R/3, 3 BI, 2 XI and 1 APO environments with in total > 4800 users in 34 countries in EMEA and 12 Microsoft Navision systems for 16 countries, supporting more than 7 Billion $ revenue. • Drove commercial integration of Schering-Plough, Organon and Intervet on SAP in 18 months. • Drove the ERP roll-out program to 5 Manufacturing sites (Millsboro (US), Harefield (UK), Elkhorn (US), Burgwedel (DE), Friesoythe (DE). • Designed the newly integrated department. • Optimized and aligned processes and procedures. • Professionalized the Service Delivery.
Supervised the IT systems and infrastructure of Campina, initially in the Netherlands, later on for Campina Consumer Products Europe (CPE) spanning 9 countries; NL, DE, BE, UK, ES, RU, GR, FR, ROE. Campina is a Dairy company with € 2.1 billion annual sales, 5100 employees in 31 locations in 9 countries (2005). CPE is the result of a reorganisation, wherein the former groups Campina Netherlands, Campina Germany and Campina International were combined into a new group, Campina Consumer Products Europe. • Managed the Information Management department(s) of 10 (NL) - 50 employees (CPE). • Managed the IT systems and infrastructure of Campina Netherlands and CPE. • Redesigned IT organizations of NL, BE and DE, and created a single European IT organization. • Redefined the IT Strategy and IT Governance of Campina CPE. • Consolidated Project Plans, Investment Budgets and Exploitation Budgets.
