Wind enthusiast, eager to be part of the energy transition and contribute to a sustainable future
Focus on system integration of wind energy, and optimal dispatch of hybrid power plants
I carried out my MSc thesis at the wind energy department of TNO, where I have developed a software tool for design, analysis and optimisation of floating offshore wind substructures, using higher-fidelity analysis tools.
Kitepower is a leading start-up in Airborne Wind Energy (AWE), developing high-tech and innovative alternatives to existing wind turbines. By replacing rigid constructions with smart controls and lightweight wings, Kitepower has achieved to produce cost-efficient and clean electricity. As part of the Flight Operations and Software (FLOS) team, I improved the simulation quality by implementing a dynamic model for a pumping kite power system within the existing simulation framework.
E.A.Z. Wind is a young, innovative company that designs, manufactures and installs elegant small wind turbines to power the countryside. My role as part-time engineer in the company was mainly focused on production, which has allowed me to gain important practical experience. Tasks include: • Redesign of a production tool for placing permanent magnets on the rotor (improving production process) • Redesign of a mold used for manufacturing of the stator (improving end product) • Revision of production manuals • Various applied research projects, such as friction analysis of bolts, or properties of blade coating
