Bart (PhD 2010) is a Full Professor of Leadership and Organizational Behavior at Durham University Business School (UK). His research focuses on organisational trust, teams, leadership, and creativity and innovation, which he examines through primary studies and research syntheses (meta-analyses, reviews). He consistently publishes his work in top-tier journals (e.g., AMJ, JAP, AMA, AROPOB, JOM), currently serves on review boards and has previously served an associate editor of some of these journals, and has received multiple best paper and reviewer awards. Within the university, he has held various (research-focused) leadership roles at the institutional, faculty, and school level. He currently acts as the director for the Centre of Leadership and Followership. Bart's teaching includes both substantive and methodological courses (OB, leadership, theorizing, research methods, meta-analysis), mostly focused at the postgraduate and PhD level. Prior to joining Durham, Bart worked as an Associate Professor at the VU University Amsterdam (the Netherlands) and Australian Catholic University (Australia). Bart is an active member of the OB Division of the Academy of Management (AOM), and has been (and continues to be) involved in multiple committees, professional development workshops, and symposia. In addition to his AOM membership, he is also an advisory board member of the Center for Trust Studies (University of Arizona).
