A highly professional Design Director with extensive project based knowledge of user centred design. My current focus is on the integration of Experience Design as part of business processes. I think in a strategic, breadth first and then creative user-centred way to come up with innovative solutions to usability design. I work most effectively in a team or project environment and relish client account management. The organisations, that could fully utilise the range of my skills and knowledge in User Experience design, will either have control over all ‘touch points’ that impact their customer’s experience or will be consulting in this area. Specialties: Management of User Experience design as part of business processes. User experience design and usability engineering problem synthesis, research, analysis, solution creation, testing and implementation. The use of a range of user experience design tools i.e. contextual analysis, scenarios, personas, task requirements analysis, usability context analysis, HCI audits, design, prototyping and testing, user guidance requirements analysis plus user documentation.
Project Design lead and Programme manager within the User Experience design team. A team supporting the multi-channel delivery of online & mobile device client based services, to the Vodafone SoHo, SME, and Enterprise marketplaces. Responsible for stakeholder management and Quality Control of deliverables, at all phases of fixed mobile convergent service design, development and implementation
Role responsibilities included: 1 User Experience account management for Vodafone, T-Mobile International, Orange, Telefonica Group, 3 & Telstra plus retail experiences for Car Phone Warehouse. 2 External communication of Motorola’s Experience and User Interface strategy. 3 Management of customisation (delivery & processes) for the EMEA, Far East & Oceania global market regions. 4 Motorola User Experience representative on the GSMA RCS (Rich Communications Suite) group.
The role involved: 1 The research and development of a toolkit for a User Experience creation process. 2 Deployment of that toolkit as part of the Business and Product Creation Processes. 3 Project leadership for Philips Design, where it was a consortium member of an EU funded IST project 'VIPData - a Bluetooth enabled pen'. This was a 350K€ project where he won an additional 50K€ of usability design business. Other consortium members included France Telecom, Flextronics, Sanyo as well as Philips Semiconductors.
Responsibility for the Paris Design Branch – a team of 15 product, user interface, visual communication plus colours & finishes designers. Management of a 3.5 million € pa turnover and delivering an IFO of 550K€. Additionally acting as Global Design Account manager to the Philips Mobile business for the 2003 & 2004 product range definition
