As the head of my own forensic accounting practice for the past 20 years I have undertaken a range of expert witness and consulting assignments that encompass both criminal and civil investigations; theft, embezzlement/misappropriations, breach of contract, contract disputes, insurance claims, divorce proceedings and HMRC tax investigations. I am available for any one-off expert witness assignments that require forensic accounting services or longer-term projects. My background in the highly specialised field of accountancy has provided me with the experience necessary to transition easily into any business culture, and rapidly assimilate case information, civil or criminal, and prepare clear and detailed reports on my findings and recommendations. I have worked on more than 250 civil and criminal assignments over the past 35 years and, in that time, was retained as a consulting forensic accountant by Defra (Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) for 7 years, where I successfully identified and reclaimed more than £10m in fraudulent contractor claims and reviewed, and recommended improvements to, a number of grant schemes. Apart from running my own practice, from 2013-2017, I was the senior compliance investigator with the global compliance team of Fujitsu, one of the leading global technology products, solutions and services providers. I worked on a number of varied and complex compliance-related assignments across the global Fujitsu family. From 2017-2020 I was a member of a multi-national Paris-based team managing projects on a EUR multi-million bribery & corruption investigation.
