At a young age, selling stories on the beach was surely a preface to my vision of becoming a filmmaker. Beginning work started as an editor with mentor, French Director, Dr. Jean Bodon on the film E-MC3 that was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. And more work was had as an Assistant Director on productions that ranged from independent to studio films, Music Videos, and Shorts. These experiences sharpened my skills and allowed me to learn the integral parts of working within budgets, schedules and complying to industry standards. But my true ignition of telling stories came when I decided to direct a documentary, Beyond Pollution about the Gulf of Mexico oil spills and the effects of his hometown Pensacola, Florida. I acclaimed resonance of history, story telling and my own responsibilities to create a place for me to visualize my direction and need for films with a purpose. With storytelling, as in the old days, people would come together and enjoy one experience. Either it be joy, excitement, or a simple release - the sole purpose is to still attach to something that you can talk about, learn, and be a part of regardless of differences or environment. I like that I could have something to do with that. Influenced by Hitchcock, Sidney Lumet because of the way they develop, prepare, and run sets, and the Picturesque Ridley Scott, and David Fincher as a more contemporary style of directing are ways I would like to develop my own art of directing.
