I am a CIMA qualified Senior FP&A Manager, with over 10 years of experience in leading financial planning and analysis across diverse sectors, including elevator and escalator manufacturing, tyre production, and new equipment distribution. I have a proven track record of collaborating with senior business leaders to develop and execute robust strategies focused on driving financial performance, revenue and profitability, and creating sustainable advantage for the companies I work for. Currently, I oversee the FP&A and business partnering function for the EMEA region at Otis Elevator Co., the world leader in elevator and escalator manufacturing, installation and service. In this role, I am responsible for analysing field and manufacturing performance, managing earnings release and investor relations topics, and leading benchmarking activities. I also coordinate business reviews and guide decision making, using big picture insights and a unique blend of sales and manufacturing exposure. Otis Elevators is the world leader in elevator and escalator manufacturing, installation and service. Promoted in July 2017, to FP&A and later and extended Business Partnering role with focus on New Equipment business in EMEA. Responsible for overseeing the restructuring of financial processes, analysing field performance of new equipment and manufacturing performance, managing earnings release and Investors Relations topics, and leading benchmarking activities. Reporting to the VP FP&A Manager, and was accountable for developing robust strategies, annual plans and long term planning for the EMEA region, coordinating business reviews and guiding decision making.
Initially hired as FP&A Manager for Southern Africa in August 2014, before being appointed as FP&A Manager for the Africa region in March 2016. My remit as FP&A Manager for Africa, involved overseeing financial performance and distribution agreements for the Africa continent, including entities in Kenya, Egypt, Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, Malawi and South Africa. Also prepared monthly brand and entity reports, developed monthly forecasts and set quarterly targets across branches and the Head Office. Reported directly to the Chief Financial Officer and supported the Regional Manager in areas including financial training. In addition, I analysed overhead and cost structures, prepared reports for Kenya and Africa distribution entities, created the annual operating plan, led quarterly construction contract re-estimation meetings, and led the administrative and financial aspects of 3 complex acquisition projects.
Goodyear Tyre & Rubber Holdings is a multinational tyre manufacturing company. I was appointed as Financial Manager to lead the day-to-day financial operations for the OTR product business unit, with ownership for overseeing the pricing and costing of all OTR tyres. I reported to the Group FP&A Manager, Group Finance Director and OTR PBU Director, and was responsible for managing the entire finance function of OTR across Sub Saharan Africa. My remit also included managing contracts and tenders, overseeing costing of OTR and Farm Factory in Uitenhage, and controlling company overheads for the OTR business unit. Most notably, I worked with 13 countries across the African continent, ensuring clear understanding of import regulations across all countries, and I prepared the annual budget for OTR, produced 18-month rolling forecasts and monthly management accounts, and analysed business results against budgets and forecasts. I also delivered a number of special projects and played a key role in driving effective decision making.
TrenTyre (PTY) was a subsidiary of Goodyear Tyre & Rubber Holdings, and it manufactured and sold new multi-brand tyres. I was promoted to Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to prepare the annual budget, produce quarterly forecasts and monthly management accounts, and analyse budgets against forecast. I reported to the Retail Finance Director and Group FP&A Manager, and was accountable for providing strategic insights and support to Directors and the Product Manager to guide effective financial decision making. In addition, my remit involved controlling and analysing overheads, on revenue, COGS / GP and Capex, managing working capital and cash flow, developing pricing and cost saving strategies, and analysing cost benefit. I also provided financial oversight and coordination of Commercial PBU of Goodyear SA, including all Sub Saharan African countries.
As Sales & Pricing Manager, I oversaw day-to-day tracking and monitoring of price moves at a channel level across all areas of the business, including implementing effective pricing monitoring for all PBUs, preparing monthly reports for PBU meetings and producing monthly reports to highlight progress against outstanding milestones, status, resource requirements, issues, risks and dependencies. In addition, I tracked and reported on parallel and competitor pricing activities and changes, created weekly information business packs to review recommendations for change, and developed business cases to allow project sponsors to make informed decisions regarding projects. Most notably, I led delivery of IT solutions across the business to improve sales and pricing, and I was instrumental in embedding best practice pricing methodologies for the business. I also documented and reported on illegal import issues across the business.
