As a Paralegal working in Commercial Property, I commit myself to clarity, efficiency and exceptional service. I assist a number of fee-earning Solicitors, helping to maintain a streamlined client journey from onboarding to completion.
As a paralegal, I am gaining invaluable experience in Commercial Property from onboarding clients and working on Land Registry applications to working with accounts and dealing with aged debts and residual balances. Being able to learn from highly qualified and experienced solicitors has allowed for me to expand my understanding of the field.
Working in a small team of 3, I had the opportunity to experience legal transactions from onboarding to completion.
I had the opportunity to attend a talk led by early careers manager, Georgina Naylor. She introduced us to a number of trainees from different backgrounds who spoke about diversity and how they overcame barriers in entering the field of law.
I attended a talk with the firm and heard from senior associates, Balbinder Dhami and Gurpreet Lali, and Partner, Jason Newall, among other speakers. The session was hugely informative and gave me invaluable guidance in taking my next legal steps.
I had the privilege of attending talk lead by counsel, Tom Eyre-brook and Ellie Pardy on tax law and how the tax team at the firm operate. They provided an explanation of what tax law actually entails and spoke of some of the projects that they’ve played a part in. This was very helpful in deciding on whether or not tax law is an area of interest for me.
Hogan Lovells partners, Stella Wong and Ben Sulaiman, gave their time to myself and a number of aspiring lawyers. They spoke about their work in patent litigation and project development, the process of a lawyer climbing the ranks and maintaining a healthy but realistic and feasible work-life balance. This opportunity was incredibly insightful and encouraging.
Senior inclusion and diversity manager, Emmi Makiharju, took us through the firms action plan and spoke of the importance of diversity in law. As an ethnic minority, this talk was very reassuring.
