Responsibilities: - Define the specifications of the testbench layers in terms of hardware and software, - select the suitable technology for the automatization and test software framework, - procurement, assembly and acceptance tests on the system’s hardware components, - design and implement the software and FPGA firmware modules assessing the functionalities of the electronic board, - design, layout and assembly of a low-complexity auxiliary loopback PCB for testing the VME interface of the DUT board, - perform validation tests on the developed test system before usage in mass-production, - prepare and maintain the documentation and MS Project schedules for the different phases of the development, - Create user guide and support for the company tendered for mass-production. TECHNICAL ENVIRONMENT USED: Altera Quartus II for Verilog FPGA test modules, Mentor Graphics ModelSim for FPGA module simulation and development, Python for test script and test sequencer software, NotePad++ for linux system shell scripts, MS Office and Visio for documentations.
Within CERN's Electronics Control and Equipment Group, I worked as a junior Electronic Engineer focusing on LabVIEW Software and Testbench development dedicated for MEMS characterization purposes. Project Description: Development of a control and data acquisition software solution, using National Instruments measurement hardware-, and LabVIEW Real-Time and FPGA software framework for applications of MEMS devices. Responsibilities: - Definition of the required software functionalities with the control system specialist and create technical software specification document, - design, implement and maintain the LabVIEW software package, - implement high-speed communication protocols with LabVIEW FPGA for readout and control of high-precision DAC module and optical displacement measurement sensor system, - support design and layout of an interface PCB for the selected DAC evaluation board to be integrated into the control system, - develop, commission and maintain two testbench systems used for MEMS characterization, - perform acceptance and verification tests on digital- and optoelectronics, displacement measurement sensor systems (optical and capacitive) and their respective readout electronic units based on device specifications, - Create the evaluation reports of tests, user guides and specifications.
