I am a biochemist with a firm background in enzymology and protein engineering. My main field of expertise is protein biochemistry for biotechnology and in vitro diagnostic assay applications. Specialties: Diagnostic kit development; Enzymology; Protein engineering; High-throughput screening.
I am currently using my expertise in cloning and protein biochemistry to provide solutions for biomedical problems.
As a seconded experienced researcher to the Medical University of Vienna within the Marie Curie Industrial-Academic Partnership, I contributed to human genetic analyses and the investigation of biomarkes important in human diseases.
Achievements: Designed and developed novel DNA constructs for different protein production systems.
Achievements: Developed the scientific concept of and designed a new line of food diagnostic assay kits Analysed existing in vitro diagnostic solutions on the market Evaluated clinical targets Designed enzymatic assays
My project was to set up a semi-automated, high-throughput screening system, and to improve the catalytic properties of an engineered aminoacid dehydrogenase by means of directed evolution.
Main responsibilities: Protein production; Screening of potential binding partners and inhibitors on Mycobacterium tuberculosis proteins; Supervision of undergraduate students
