I performed research on improving electrical grid sustainability, developing verified vignettes, and creating new knowledge building on cyber-informed engineering (CIE). Deliverables include 2 Use Case documents, which outline real-world attacks on electrical grid infrastructure, lab exercises that reflect possible impacts on grid hardware components, and conceptual questions relating to Cyber-Informed Engineering principles. The program is a collaborative partnership between the David C. Frederick Honors College, Swanson School of Engineering, Pitt’s Office of Research and the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) that provides students with experience solving real-world problems while engaging with one of the 17 national U.S. Department of Energy labs.
Interviewed youth and produce recipients to assess the impact of local organic produce gardens in low-income communities (Pottstown, Phoenixville, and Spring City). Contributed interview material to the company yearly report. Brainstormed with several youth participants, ages ranging 12-18 about blog post topics concerning food insecurity and sustainable gardening practices; edited youth-written blog posts for publication on Trellis’ website.
