About

Aytaç Gören received his mechanical engineering degree in 1999, M.Sc. and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering degrees in 2001 and 2007 from Dokuz Eylul University, Izmir. During his M.Sc. study he has been in Solar Energy and Control Laboratories of FH-Rosenheim, Germany and during his Ph.D. study he has been in Laboratory of Interchangeable Manufacturing and Industrial Metrology of TU-Vienna, Vienna, Austria as invited researcher. He started teaching in 2001 and he has been leading the Automatic Control and Robotics Labs of ME Dpt of DEU since 2012. He has been in Innovation Technologies Laboratory of Université de Picardie Jules Verne, France as guest professor. His current research interests include solar cars, photovoltaics, EVs, mobile robots, ANNs, high efficient BLDCMs, BLDCDs and polymer matrix composites. He has published a book, book chapters and over eighty research papers in reviewed journals, conferences and technical magazines. He took part in several international and national conferences and workshops including local organizing committee member of IFAC DECOM-TT 2007 Izmir, secretary of TOK 2011 (Turkish Automatic Control Meeting 2011) and he was the Chairman of WELMO ’17 which was held in Izmir in May 2017. He is a reviewer in Journal of Solar Energy (SCI), Journal of Intelligent Service Robotics (SCI), Measurement (SCI), Transactions of the Institute of Measurement and Control (SCI), Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (SCI-E), Müh. ve Makina (TR-D), DEUMMFD(TR-D), IJAET(TR-D). Dr. Gören founded an RD oriented company which designs and produces embedded control and sensor cards for heat recovery systems, micro MPPTs, linear BLDCMs, and air gauges and led over the course of twelve years. Dr. Gören was a Member of Board of Information Technologies Research and Application Center of DEU between 2012 and 2018. He is a member of board of Industry Application Center of DEU. He has been involved in several research projects about industrial automation, robotics, solar cars and polymer composites which were supported by the EU, The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey and the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology of Turkey. Dr. Gören is the founder and has been leading the Solaris Solar Car Projects since 2003. His project groups designed and produced seven solar cars and five electric vehicles which took part in World Solar Challenges, Turkish Solar Car and EV Challenges, European Solar Challenges, France Solar Challenge, Italian Solar Challenge and Moroccan Solar Challenges.
