Most of my time was spent on QHSE, engaging our team to go back to basics and refocus on Quality to drive service quality and enhance our safety records. I was beginning to drive a change and have an impact when COVID hit and all my focus shifted to cries management and the handling of COVID. Our team continued to operate in every country we worked in without disruption. With regard to Testing, key role during this period was to reorganised the testing product line, with a strong emphasis on growth in Saudi and Algeria.
The first responsibility was to improve our HSE and to keep every safe in the base or on the field. I was responsible for the P&L of all operations in Iraq, with a strong emphasis on cost management and initiative to deliver better support more effectively to operations. I was intimately engaged with customers, and other local stakeholders to maintain the relationship and enhance our ability to grow market share. Finally, I had an essential role to play to develop our local population, coach them and promote them in the management team.
I was responsible for all operations in these four countries with a P&L of about 700M$ and a staff of more than 3000 people. One of the key involvement was with the management of JV with local partners. I was attending board meetings and also actively involved in the search and due diligence to form new ones leading to M&A activities. As Schlumberger acquired Cameron, I was actively involved in the integration teams and influenced shaping the future organisation of that group locally.

The challenge included: - integration of the SMITH business after the merge in August 2010 - largest population of SMITH completions outside the US. - develop the business in Venezuela under serious liquidity constraints - penetrate Mexico where our market share was insignificant - increase our presence in Colombia - consolidate our position in Brazil During my stay the business grew more than 25% each year.
