Awais Qasim is a Doctoral Researcher at Universität Hamburg. He is working on host-pathogen interactions. He is a certified trainer of Biosafety and Biosecurity. He has also worked in several projects focusing on antibiotic resistance, and TB epidemiology. He is a passionate young scientist and a science communicator.
It was a 6 month long virtual fellowship program for Pakistan. 5 fellows were selected from Pakistan, each fellow representing his province. Basic to advanced topics such as emerging biotechnologies and DURC, biowarfare history and current international treaties. Global Biosecurity players, DURC introduction to mitigation, IBCs, etc. All the topics were covered in detail. The participants had interactive sessions with guest speakers.
