I am a dad, an engineering leader, and cloud geek at heart. With over two decades of experience, I've had the pleasure of building and leading teams that solve complex challenges with simple, elegant solutions. My passion lies in architecting resilient, scalable systems and fostering a culture where engineers can thrive. I am a hands-on leader who enjoys diving into technical discussions and mentoring engineers. When I'm not working, you can find me with my family, on bike, or with a camera, or a guitar in hand.
Leading the European engineering team for Microsoft Cloud for Nonprofit, I am directly responsible for the delivery and quality of products transforming how non-profits manage their full lifecycle of fundraising and volunteer management. My key achievements in this role are growing the team with amazing talent, expanding from 3 to 10 remote engineers. I’ve proposed and implemented a support strategy to ensure our customers and partners are getting help when needed, also ensuring the team is not randomized. I have been an advocate for scrum & agile, working with my team to implement suggestions and process improvements where needed, including proposing a restructuring of the team, defining OKRs, expanding mentorship opportunities with individuals and driving team growth. I focused on engineering excellence, enabling automated regression tests, CI/CD pipelines, significantly improving our ability to release the product. I also architected the Installer, significantly reducing the friction customers were seeing between purchasing and using the products.
As an Engineer, I worked with Microsoft's top strategic customers and partners. Together, we delivered production-quality code using bleeding edge technology, made open-source contributions, and provided feedback to different product groups. I built impactful experiences to empower developers everywhere, delivered features in Visual Studio for Mac, unifying the Windows and Mac editor experiences, worked on Visual Studio Codespaces, building the Windows & Enterprise features to help developers be productive anywhere, even from the browser, and worked on Playwright, enabling reliable end to end testing of web applications.
Working with a set of high-growth companies, I acted as a trusted technical advisor. I assisted in architecting systems utilising a full spectrum of Azure Infrastructure and Platform services. I often served as a conduit between the technical and non-technical stakeholders, including CxOs. I helped teams throughout the entire lifecycle of complex projects, from envisioning, pricing, risk assessment, monitoring progress and final delivery. Partnering with sales teams, I wrote various POCs to demonstrate new and emerging technology and engineering approaches, to land new deals.
My role at SAOP was to architect the migration of their ERP offering to a new, modern platform. • Hired and led a team of engineers, QA, product owner and designer, introduced and began adoption of agile practices within the whole company, • Architected and delivered a unification of a new identity platform to unify user access across multiple SAOP products – a key strategical milestone for the new platform, adopted by all key products in SAOP since, • Architected and delivered a complete Point of Sale solution, along with a back-office implementation, as a complete self-service, SaaS, Azure hosted solution with a full-featured desktop client that was easily maintainable & usable.
