Computer Engineering Co-op @ McMaster | Software & AI/ML Engineer | Python, TypeScript, AWS, LLM Agents | Seeking 2027 Internships

Greater Toronto Area, Canada

About

I'm a Computer Engineering student at McMaster University who loves building software and the hardware it runs on, and I'm looking for 2027 software engineering and AI/ML internships. Last summer I interned at Valsoft (Ampliphi), where I built a system that replaced an expensive paid data service for hotel pricing, shipped the company's iOS and Android app, and worked on its AI assistant. Right now I'm a research assistant at McMaster's AI Society, working on how language models can learn to predict how different people see the same thing. What I enjoy most is taking an idea from first sketch to something real people use: web apps, mobile apps, AI agents and embedded projects, from low-level code on microcontrollers to cloud deployments on AWS. I like solving hard problems, checking that my work actually works, and learning from people who've done it before. What I work with: Python, TypeScript, React and Next.js, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, AWS, Docker, PyTorch, LLMs and AI agents, C and C++. I'd love to connect with engineers, researchers and recruiters working in software, AI/ML and embedded systems. If you're building something interesting or hiring interns for 2027, send me a message. Experience

  • Undergraduate Research Assistant at McMaster Artificial Intelligence Society
    Oct 2026 - Present · 2 mos

  • AI/ML Engineer at Valsoft Corporation
    May 2026 - Sep 2026 · 5 mos

    • Built Ratelumo from scratch, an in-house tool that tracks competitor prices and replaced a paid data vendor, saving $3,650/month (~$43,800/year). Was able to get Google Travel's pricing data in far bigger batches (up to 330 dates in one request), which cut the number of requests we made by ~90x. • Tested it alongside the live system before switching over: it was 98% accurate over two weeks and covered ~20x more markets. The team replaced the vendor with it after my term ended. • Deployed on AWS with automatic, secure releases and 1,650+ automated tests to catch bugs before they reach users. • Worked on Alfie, a live AI assistant powered by Claude that can use ~50 different tools and handle multi-step tasks, covering everything from how it looks up information to the live chat screen. • Built and launched Ampliphi's iPhone and Android app to 115 private testers, built from the existing web app. It includes push notifications, secure login storage, and more that work on the phone itself.

  • Coding Instructor at Toronto District School Board
    Sep 2023 - Jun 2024 · 10 mos

    • Designed comprehensive instructional materials and lesson plans for coding courses, enhancing student engagement. • Taught foundational concepts in programming languages such as Java, Python, and Scratch to diverse learners. • Provided technical support and troubleshooting assistance during class sessions, fostering a supportive learning environment.

  • Air Cadet Flight Sargent & Instructor at 132 Spitfire Squadron - Air Cadets Brampton
    Oct 2018 - Jun 2024 · 5 yrs 9 mos

Over nearly six years as a Flight Sergeant at 132 Spitfire Squadron, I honed my leadership, organizational, and mentorship skills while guiding new cadets through every aspect of the Air Cadet experience. I acted as an important link between the cadet corps and the commissioned officers, ensuring that training objectives were met and that every member of my flight had the tools and support to succeed. - Led & Mentored: Supervised a flight within a squadron of 150+ cadets, coaching peers through weekly drills, classroom instruction, and hands-on activities. - Training & Discipline: Helped organize and execute training nights, inspections and physical-fitness sessions, enforced dress code, drill, and conduct standards to maintain squadron professionalism. - Event Coordination: Collaborated with fellow senior cadets and officers to plan large-scale events such as field training exercises, logistics, and resource allocation. - Administration & Communication: Assigned tasks, maintained records and kept clear communication across rank structures, helping streamline administrative processes for smoother operation. My experience as Flight Sergeant taught me that effective leadership combines responsibility, empathy, and a commitment to continuous improvement, qualities that I will now bring to every team I join.
