*Perform the assessment and management of emergency and other patients in the emergency department or ward situation for both children and adults, for all conditions likely to occur in a district hospital, clinic or private practice *Take responsibility for performing routine procedures in hospital wards, emergency departments and the outpatient departments under supervision. *Manage patients in the internal medicine wards, paediatric wards, mental health wards and surgical wards *Assist in theatre and perform routine surgical procedures. *Form part of the health care team in the districts, working together with medical practitioners, nurses and other members of the health care team in the hospitals and clinics of the government health sector
