Management of projects related to design and manufacturing of cryogenic and vacuum equipment for the ITER project. Manufacturing of the MITICA Cryopump - 5M€ - 2014 - 2020 (forecast date for end of the project): - Negotiation of the Procurement Arrangement with IO - Preparation and management of the call for tender (Open procedure with negotiation); management of the technical negotiations with the industry; evaluation of the tenders received; - Follow up of the manufacturing activities performed by the contractors (SDMS; RAVANAT): schedule and progress, technical topics, contractual aspects, coordination between the teams and the different contracts... Pre-Production Cryopump: F4E-IO The RI (Germany)-ALSYOM (France)-SEIV (France) consortium was granted the contract for the manufacturing of ITER's PRE-PRODUCTION CRYOPUMP. Thanks to my past experiences in Vacuum and Cryogenics, SEIV decided that I shall be involved as a technical manager for this project. My role on this project is divided into three main tasks: - Identification and management of the technical issues related to the manufacturing and the functioning of the parts ALSYOM and SEIV are in charge of (The PPC's valve, and the PPC's casing): identification of the manufacturing, installation and testing strategies, identification of design issues and proposal for evolutions, design of tools used for controls during manufacturing … - Management of documentation: write or manage the writing by experts of the documentation related to the project: quality plan, manufacturing & inspection plan, welding plan, control plan, helium leak test procedure, supply specifications,… - Monitoring of the project's cost, and management of the schedule Beryllium reflectors for the RJH experimental reactor: AREVA-TA SEIV is involved with AREVA TA in the design and manufacturing of the Beryllium reflectors that will be installed around the core of the RJH reactor. My role on the project is to analyze the implementation of innovative solutions that will be used for the manufacturing of these parts. These solutions shall be analyzed in term of: - Compatibility with the geometry of the parts, - Compatibility with the mechanical resistance of the system, - Compatibility with the requirements of the RCC-MX code Ice plug maintenance in Nuclear plants: Management of a R&D project dedicated to the production of ice plugs during maintenance operations in nuclear plants: design and manufacturing of the testing tool, design and manufacturing of the freezing tool, …
Design and testing of custom made vacuum and cryogenic devices: - selection of the design concepts in accordance with the customer's specifications (the solutions are chosen with the design department), - mechanical dimensioning of the systems, - calculation of the thermal performances of the systems, - calculation of the vacuum performances of the systems, - redaction of the supply specification for specific components such as vacuum pumps, cryogenic valves, sensors,... - selection of the suppliers and of the equipments to be implemented on the systems, - tests of the systems after its manufacturing by our workshop. The main projects I was involved in are: - ERIOS: 80m3 thermal vacuum chamber used to test satellites in space conditions, - VTC3: 6m3 thermal vacuum chamber used to test satellites' parts in space conditions, - SIELETERS: cryostat used to cool down and support an optical interferometer; the cryostat is installed in a plane, - Helium cryogenic lines for CERN, - Cryostat GRAU, TGRAU, MOPI,... : several cryostat designed and manufactured for CNES, CEA, SUPAERO,...
