As CEO of Music Patron, I'm connecting music lovers directly with living composers through collective monthly patronage. In just a few months I've led the organisation through a significant transition: from incubation within Uk charity Sound and Music to fully independent status, operating as a lean start-up with a proven model and bold ambition to scale. The role draws on a diverse career trajectory, starting with night shifts at New York's legendary Blue Note Jazz Club, immersed in extraordinary musicianship and remarkable stories. I went on to manage Trevor Horn's international recording projects, deepening my affinity with the challenges and value of creative excellence. I was inspired to set up my own music production company in Soho, commissioning original soundtracks for global ad campaigns including Nike, Sony and Coca-Cola, pushing hard to make sure composers were paid fairly, while advocating more broadly for creators' rights as Chair of a UK-wide members' organisation. From there I took on Amnesty International's global artist engagement programme, leading high profile partnerships to strengthen human rights around the world and in one instance, mobilising 870 musicians across 44 countries to perform in solidarity with refugees on a single day. Different chapters, same thread: I create conditions where creativity can flourish, building passionate communities through authentic storytelling and valued connections.
Leading the pioneering platform that democratises patronage of UK composers, creating direct connections between artists and passionate music lovers.
Transformed Amnesty's global approach to working with musicians, artists and high-profile supporters, creating an ambitious, coherent programme that harnessed art's power to transcend borders and make human rights feel urgent and personal for mainstream audiences: - Created Give a Home partnership with Sofar Sounds - mobilising 870 artists performing 270 gigs across 44 countries on one day in solidarity with refugees, generating £150k+ donations and 38k new supporters - Repositioned Ambassador of Conscience Award achieving 5-fold increase in media coverage - Led global children's literature partnership with Angelina Jolie, publishing books about child rights in 13 languages
Led strategic advocacy for creators' rights, strengthening industry partnerships, updating systems and restructuring membership models to support emerging composers.
Built and scaled music production company from startup to established Soho business with a reputation for creative excellence and fair remuneration for composers and musicians, delivering original soundtracks for global brand campaigns including “the most comprehensive and successful global campaign ever executed by Nike” - Mark Parker, Nike President, and “probably the most intelligent ad we've ever made" - Sir John Hegarty, Bartle Bogle Hegarty.
