About

Proven and hands-on executive with deep experience in security, cloud, SaaS, mobile, wireless, semiconductor, networking, and enterprise software businesses in start-up and global corporate settings. Over the course of three decades, I’ve applied my strong knowledge of engineering, product management, business development, general management, and marketing in CEO, Founder, CTO, VP, and operating roles to deliver products and services to enterprise, service provider, and consumer markets. I’ve co-founded two venture-backed companies and delivered several successful liquidity events, acquisitions, and mergers. Some highlights include: • Establishing Sepior as the leader in institutional-grade digital asset security and cryptographic key management (based on secure multiparty computation) while raising over $15M in funding and delivering the sale of the company to Blockdaemon. • Turning-around and delivering the successful sale of Soonr to Autotask (Vista Equity Partners company). • Delivering over $160M in OEM revenue at Trapeze resulting in the sale of the company to Belden then subsequently to Juniper. • Co-founding and growing two venture-backed companies and raising over $30M in venture funding. • Delivering the industry’s first DSL IP/LAN access product line and growing it rapidly to a $25M run rate at PairGain (acquired by ADC for $1.6B in stock). • Delivering and managing the technical solution for a major DoD program (ULANA) that generated over $2.5B for EDS. These facilities use a proprietary distributed hybrid microgrid power architecture that combines solar photovoltaic energy, battery storage, and natural gas to achieve Tier-3 or better uptime without reliance on any interconnected grid power. The result is a highly cost and energy efficient infrastructure for high performance computing while achieving a reduction of at least 95% in carbon footprint. The data centers are modular and scale in 20MW to 100MW increments up to aggregate capacities in excess of 1GW.

(a Vista Equity Partners portfolio company) in July 2015. • Appointed CEO by the BoD in early 2014 to accelerate growth. Replaced, reorganized, and made critical additions to marketing, sales, finance, and customer success functions. Invested in new MSP and OEM partners, verticals, geographic expansion, service reliability, and technology road-map. Soonr-branded bookings and revenues grew 123% and 99% respectively, while average recurring revenue for new deals improved by 3x and gross margins remained at 80%. • Managed the M&A process from beginning to end; worked closely with the BoD, bankers, legal teams, and audit firms; resolved all commercial and legal issues; prepared management and due diligence materials; managed and conducted all management presentations and diligence reviews; drove the negotiation of the purchase and sale agreement; and coordinated the closing of the deal. Prior to the CEO role, as VP of Products, Compliance, and Customer Success, had responsibility for Soonr’s business-grade cloud service, client device, and mobile app (iOS, Android, BlackBerry, and Windows) roadmap and life cycle. • Managed pre- and post-sales initiatives including technical marketing, initial user experience, service uptake, organic growth, customer support, and all training. Reduced monthly churn to under 1.5% across all brands of Soonr while reducing the on-boarding time for new partners and large end-users to just days. • Managed Soonr’s major OEM relationships including AT&T, Rogers, Ricoh, Comcast, Support.com, and Cisco Webex among others. • Managed and conducted all compliance and regulatory activities including Service Organization Controls (SOC2) based on SSAE16 / ISAE 3402 auditing standards, HIPAA, PCI, and SafeHarbor in Soonr’s four jurisdictional data-center regions.
