Customer had revamped their email system, deploying IaC, newest operating systems, good scalable virtual infrastructure and all that is good and holy, but needed a hand with email standards, the proper use of DNSBLs (both for reducing incoming spam as well as protecting outbound), managing SPF/DKIM/DMARC, TLS certificates, as well as other factors to make sure they were playing nice by the rest of the world while at the same time protecting their own customers from email-borne threats. My contract was for two months initially but kept being extended until at last they felt they were comfortable managing the system themselves. I was referred to this position by another contractor who had helped them build the infrastructure side of things.
