Asin is a specialist accredited in family business advisory. He works with families from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, industry sectors and geographies. His focus areas cover creating governance structures for family businesses leading to the preservation of the family legacy over generations. He advises in areas with an emphasis on: - family dynamics - developing family constitutions - creating family councils - supporting family business boards - next gen mentoring and development - conflict management - educating family on family business matters - succession planning He understands the complexities of overlapping dynamics in family, business and ownership systems, each with their unique issues, and is able to navigate, guide and advise families towards a sustainable solution to preserve the family and the business. In addition to advising family businesses, Asin also speaks at seminars on family business matters. He is currently the Managing Director of Family Governance at RBC, working with the banks most enterprising clients globally on matters related to family business governance. Asin has a diplomatic demeanour, has a collaborative approach, a high degree of integrity, a strong work-ethic, he’s an effective communicator and has the tenacity to see difficult matters through to conclusion. He comes from a background of large family business group in Africa that combusted due to failed governance and has a deep first-hand knowledge and appreciation of family business dynamics, its rewards and pitfalls. He previously owned his own businesses in Kenya in plastics packaging manufacturing, operated a fast-growing vending and snack-food and hot beverage supplies company in Oman. Asin holds Advanced Certificates in Family Business Advisory (ACFBA) and Family Wealth Advisory (ACFWA) from the Family Firm Institute (FFI) based in Boston, USA. He earned his BSc in Chemical Engineering from University of Calgary, his CSS in Administration and Management from Harvard University. He is also a certified mediator from CEDR, UK. He is passionate to serve and support families to ensure they sustain over generations, and do not fall into the destructive paths of divisiveness.
