I currently work as a Software Engineer at KLA as part of the Software Platform Solutions (SPS) group, focused on the design, development and maintenance of critical machine controls and high-precision calibration software for KLA's BroadBand Plasma (BBP) wafer inspection systems suite. I graduated from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor in 2022 with a Master's degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering. During my time as a grad student at U-M, I actively served as an ECE Student Ambassador, Treasurer of the Indian Student Association (ISA), Co-leader of the U-M International Center Student Council (ICSC), Student Advisor for the U-M Arts Initiative, and was an invitee of Tau Beta Pi (TBP): the U-M Engineering Honor Society, Eta Kappa Nu (HKN): the U-M ECE Honor Society of IEEE and Phi Kappa Phi (PKP): the U-M all-discipline Honor Society. I also had the opportunity to work in the U-M Real-Time Computing Laboratory (RTCL) and the U-M Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Leadership Lab. Having considerable practical experience working on a variety of projects under the scope of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, I am an avid tech enthusiast who strongly believes in the power and ability of technology in creating an equitable society and changing lives for the better. Intelligent Systems, IoT, Autonomous Vehicles, Avionics, Connected Devices and Edge Computing are some of the many areas I am curious and passionate about.
- Spearheading Advanced Packaging defect detection software support and heavily involved in the GTM for BBP’s next-gen products with enhanced image acquisition capabilities. - Gaining expertise in writing software in Java and Python using Design Patterns and Object Oriented Programming (OOP). Regularly leading software design and code reviews and actively mentoring new members. - Tools expertise: Eclipse, IntelliJ, Visual Studio, TestRail, IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC), Jazz Source Control, SmartBear Code Collaborator, Jenkins CI/CD Automation, Windsurf, CoPilot
- Core member of the Machine Controls and Calibration software team at KLA’s BroadBand Plasma (BBP) Wafer Inspection (WIN) division. - Responsible for the effective design, debugging, implementation and documentation of sophisticated software features with x-functional coordination between Systems, Apps and Field Support engineers and technicians.
- Developed and supported Over-the-Air (OTA) update capabilities for the neoOBD2LC On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) interface. - Enhanced clients’ Diagnostics Over Internet Protocol (DoIP) demo applications using embedded C/C++ on a TI Cortex M4 MCU. - Built skills in and gained knowledge about firmware development, multithreading, FreeRTOS, MQTT, TCP and UDP socket programming.
Student Advisor for the U-M Arts Initiative Goal Group: Student Experience and Learning
Co-lead the International Center Student Council (ICSC) which provides globally minded students with a forum to identify and examine issues affecting students, and aims to make U-M a better place for personal and professional growth.
- ECE Student Ambassadors are selected to serve as representatives of the Michigan ECE program, acting as a strong link between the division and prospective students and alumni. - Ambassadors play an integral role in recruitment and admissions programs, alumni engagement, and division activities as a whole.
- Actively participated in product testing activities and gained a thorough understanding of the setup and debugging of IoT cellular devices. Gained hands-on experience with NB-IoT and Sigfox, MQTT Configuration, and communication interfaces like RTD and RS-485. - Performed a feasibility study of LoRaWAN and LoRa technology and its integration with cloud platforms. Learned Git Version Control fundamentals and contributed towards the Agile development of a Python-based GUI Configuration Utility for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication.
- Creation Labs is a university-sponsored student-driven space in VIT, which encourages students to design and innovate. - Served as the Technical Lead of one of the member teams.
