I'm Ashley Thibodeaux, and for the past 9 years, I have been a higher education professional specializing in coordinating, leading, and implementing comprehensive recruitment plans and enrollment management strategies for admissions, enrollment services, and financial assistance. Additionally, I served as an adult education professional for 2 years specializing in recruiting, managing data within my department, and instructing course materials for my mature students. My expertise includes trend analysis, organizational effectiveness, and process improvement. Likewise, my background in writing, rhetoric, and research showcases my academia expertise that involves communication, time management, creativity, and strategic planning. My goal is to bring innovation to academia, all while ensuring strategic objectives are met along with an exceptional student experience.
As the Assistant Director of Academic Enrichment, I am responsible for leading the development, planning, and implementation of academic support and enrichment programming, including student transition initiatives, peer mentoring, skill development workshops, speaker series and events, and academic support-related conferences. I coordinate the promotion and marketing of STAR Services and activities. I report to the Director of STAR Services and collaborates extensively within STAR Services, as well as across campus with academic and student service departments, faculty, and staff. I directly supervise full-time and part-time staff.
I worked for Dr. Arthur Stewart at The Center for Philosophical Studies. I constructed seating charts, grade homework and exams, assist the professor with the computer and projector, and edit manuscripts for the professor.
I consult undergraduate, graduate, and dual enrolled high school students on their writing skills.
I provide instruction for students enrolled in English and Developmental Reading and Writing courses (along with other related courses and topics) in the General Education and Developmental Studies Department, including dual credit high school students. I am also responsible for maintaining office hours; and teaching extended day classes, labs, and hybrid/online courses, as required, both on campus and at alternate locations. I help coordinate and attend advisory committee meetings; attend workshops, seminars, and conferences to upgrade teaching skills; assist in the development of curriculum, as needed; and maintain program computer labs. I participate in active recruitment and retention as a part of achieving the Institute’s Shared Vision of Growth and Excellence.
