Ashley Esponda is a Director at FRA with 14 years of forensic accounting experience in regulatory compliance matters, proactive control assessments, investigations involving allegations of bribery and corruption, and implementing compliance programs. She has extensive experience in assisting global organizations with their response to enforcement matters brought by the US Department of Justice (DOJ) and Securities Exchange Commission (SEC). Prior to joining FRA’s forensic accounting team, Ashley was a Manager in KPMG’s Forensic practice. Ashley is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas and a Certified Fraud Examiner. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Master of Science in Finance and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.
Assisted a multinational software company with the documentation and assessment of the company’s anti-bribery and corruption control environment, identification of key controls designed to mitigate ABC risks, and implementation of internal control framework best practices. Managed an investigation involving allegations of bribery and corruption in the tendering and invoicing process. Led a team of forensic accounting and data analytic professionals supporting the implementation of a sanctions compliance program at a global chemical distribution company. Supported an Independent Consultant in their review of a global mining company’s risk management processes and internal controls as they relate to the impairment process, company’s disclosure, and reporting obligations.
Managed a multi-year Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) Monitorship involving the assessment of a Brazilian-based company’s global anti-bribery and corruption (ABC) controls. Provided forensic accounting support on a compliance monitorship of a global financial institution.
