New Kent, Virginia, United States
I am currently the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance for a NCAA Division I athletic department with a demonstrated history of working in several forms of public administration. In addition to my skills in NCAA Rules Compliance, I am also skilled in legislative analysis, fundraising, social media, research, and community outreach. I have a MPA from Virginia Commonwealth University, a JD from the University of South Carolina, and am a member of both the Virginia and South Carolina bars. In my current role I am responsible for the day to day operations of the compliance office while also providing comprehensive rules education, research services, and rules monitoring for multiple Division I athletic programs as well as offices within the athletic department. I have prior experience developing and running a Division I name, image, likeness (NIL) program for over 400 student-athletes and continue to stay abreast of NIL issues, legislation, and trends across the state and country. In that role I also gained experience working NIL service providers, collectives, senior administration, and legal counsel. These collective experiences have contributed to my continued passion for bettering the student-athlete experience through a service driven model. My prior professional roles in politics, a state legislature, and public administration provided a basis of knowledge and skills that I continue to utilize today. My greatest strength is my ability to lean on all of my prior experiences and utilize those transferable skills in each and every new endeavor.
