Air Quality Management Specialist driving national and regional clean‑air reforms across the Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH) and Indo‑Gangetic Plains–Himalayan Foothills (IGP‑HF). I work at the intersection of science, policy, and finance, helping governments convert complex air quality data into tangible policy actions, strengthened institutions, and measurable health and climate benefits. I lead the development of National Air Quality Management Action Plans for Nepal and Bhutan, resulting in: a) Integrated national emission inventories and source apportionment studies adopted for policy planning. b) Sectoral policy reforms in transport, residential energy, industry, agriculture, and waste. c) Establishment of MRV frameworks and Clean Air Zones, enabling governments to track progress and implement targeted interventions. d) Financing roadmaps, including Green Budgeting and climate‑finance pathways, guiding ministries on resource allocation for clean air. In the IGP-HF region, I support India, Bangladesh, and Punjab (Pakistan) through sectoral policy reviews and capacity-building, contributing to: a) Alignment of sector interventions with national air quality goals. b) Identification of high-impact, cost‑effective measures for priority sectors. c) Strengthened institutional coordination for multi-sector AQM delivery. I help governments adopt modern tools like SHERPA-based Decision Support Systems, integrated monitoring and modelling platforms, and regional AQ dashboards—significantly improving evidence‑based policymaking, scenario planning, and cross-border pollution management. My work also advances regional cooperation, supporting multi-country Science‑Policy‑Finance Dialogues, harmonized modelling, and shared technical frameworks that enable countries to collectively address transboundary air pollution. Passionate about driving policy outcomes that deliver cleaner air, healthier communities, and climate-resilient development across South Asia.
I currently work as a forest certification lead for the Uttar Pradesh Forest Corporation. Forest certification is necessary to verify sustainable forest management. It enables forest owners and managers to demonstrate the sustainability of their current methods and the capacity of their forests to satisfy the needs of both the current and future generations. By allowing companies and consumers to choose products that are sourced ethically, it also promotes sustainability. Furthermore, by encouraging customer trust, it increases the value of forest goods and, consequently, their demand. The U.P. Forest Corporation has received recognition for obtaining the NCCF-PEFC (Forest Management) Certificate on February 13, 2020. A total of 450,408 hectares across 41 forest divisions in U.P. were granted certification with the code GIPL-FM-001. These 41 forest divisions were certified in accordance with the ‘NCCF-STD-01 Forest Management Certificate Standard. The certification encompasses an area of 450,408 hectares of forest. In total, 71 species, including Aam, Eucalyptus, Khair, Sal, Seesham, Teak, Jamun, Asna, and others, have received certification.
