Dosensio's aim is to simplify enterprise content management and let users interact with documents stored for instance in Microsoft SharePoint through the Windows File Explorer using their favorite applications. Our aim was to implement our solution in Java to remain as platform agnostic as possible. I was responsible for building an interface enabling our software to appear as a local hard drive, so documents and folders from the cloud could be projected as if they were local. A first implementation involved a user-mode driver framework along with JNI to implement the various system calls in Java. A second more stable version used the Alfresco SMB driver, entirely implemented in Java. We became members of the Microsoft BizSpark program, in consideration for the elite BizSpark One.
