Birkerød, Capital Region of Denmark, Denmark
I am highly specialised in competition law, procurement law, state aid law and other EU law matters. I advise on all aspects of competition law, including horizontal and vertical agreements, abuse of dominance, merger control and general competition law compliance. I also assist clients in connection with dawn raids and leniency processes, and I litigate and handle disputes in this area. I have advised on and litigated some of the largest tort and criminal competition law cases in Denmark. I have extensive experience in advising contracting authorities and utilities on all types of issues within procurement law and contract law, as well as in conducting complaints and litigation regarding tenders. I also advise companies participating in tenders. I have advised on a significant number of large and complex procurement processes, assisted with comprehensive reports on procurement law issues and also have considerable experience with concession agreements. Within state aid law, I have acted as responsible partner on a range of matters, including cases concerning the marketability of public guarantees, settlements by public authorities and advance payments by public authorities. I have experience with formal notifications to the Commission, informal dialogue with the Commission, independent expert assessments, contact with national authorities and state aid law assessments, including economic assessments of whether aid is granted in accordance with the market investor principle. I also have significant experience in procedural law, including disputes, litigation and complaints cases, as well as general EU law, including free movement and EU procedure. I have advised on several matters concerning the interpretation of EU regulation, particularly in the energy, agricultural and media sectors, and I have handled cases before the European Court of Justice, including preliminary references. Finally, I have considerable experience drafting complex public and private contracts, where I draw upon my knowledge of competition law, procurement law and state aid law. My approach is characterised by strong professionalism, broad legal and commercial understanding, and the ability to communicate complex material clearly and accessibly. I focus on delivering advice that is clear and precise, immediately applicable to the client’s specific needs and provided in the right format for the client.
