Landhuys Noorderhaecks ligt in het prachtige zuiden van Texel op 250 meter van het Nationaal Park Duinen van Texel. Direct achter de Prins Hendrik waddendijk en met de veerboot op loopafstand is deze locatie een verrassende vakantieplek. Waar de Waddenzee overgaat in de Noordzee, verscholen achter groen, biedt het Landhuis de rust en ruimte van Texel gecombineerd met een goede bereikbaarheid van de populaire dorpen, busdienst, het Nationaal Park Duinen van Texel, natuurgebieden de Mokbaai en de Hors en het strand. Een ideaal startpunt voor activiteiten in bos, duin, strand en zee. Landhuys Noorderhaecks bestaat uit een woonhuis, een 4-persoonsrecreatieappartement, twee luxe 2-persoons suites en een monumentale schapenboet uit ca. 1890. De totale oppervlakte van het landhuis en omliggende erf bestrijkt bijna 8.000m². Oorspronkelijk is het rond 1961 als boerderij gebouwd. In 2018 is het gemoderniseerd en als landhuis heringedeeld. In 2019 is de voormalige stal verbouwd tot recreatiewoning en landhuissuites op zowel de begane grond als op de eerste verdieping. Het landhuis heeft een privé toegangsweg naar een ruime binnenplaats.
Nachtbus Texel was a privately initiated late-night transport service on the island of Texel, founded by Arwin and his son Merlijn Touw. The concept was created in response to the lack of safe nighttime transport options for young people, tourists and nightlife visitors during the busy summer season, when public transport and taxis were very limited on the island. Operating mainly during weekends, the night bus connected popular nightlife locations such as De Koog, Den Burg and De Cocksdorp. The initiative was supported by local hospitality businesses, community partners and the municipality of Texel, with the aim of improving both accessibility and public safety. Nachtbus Texel was more than simply a transport service — it was designed as a social and community-driven project focused on road safety and responsible nightlife transport. Before the service existed, many young people travelled home late at night by bicycle or on foot along dark rural roads after visiting bars, clubs and events. The night bus offered a safer alternative while also supporting the island’s hospitality and events sector. The project received considerable media attention because it was developed entirely through local entrepreneurship and community involvement. Merlijn Touw even obtained a professional bus driving licence to help operate the service himself. The bus was also used during events and festivals on Texel, including WAVES. Although Nachtbus Texel was widely praised as an innovative initiative for the island, passenger numbers ultimately proved lower than expected, making the operation financially difficult to sustain. In 2025, it was announced that the service would come to an end due to economic viability challenges.
