About

Arvin Sahaym is Associate Dean and Associate Vice Provost for Interdisciplinary Initiatives at the Graduate School of Washington State University (WSU). A leading scholar in the field of technology and strategic entrepreneurship, he also serves as Professor and Huber Dean’s Endowed Fellow at WSU’s Carson College of Business (CCB). Arvin researches and teaches Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation. His work explores real-world phenomena at the intersection of Management and Organization, Strategic Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Management. His interdisciplinary research has been published in leading academic journals, including Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Business Venturing, MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Applied Psychology, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, and Journal of Business Research, among others. His work is widely recognized for its high impact across diverse domains. Arvin also serves on the Editorial Board of Review for the Journal of Business Venturing. Arvin has received numerous honors and awards, including the Distinguished Paper Award from the Academy of Management, the FGF Germany Best Paper Award, this IS research Innovative Methods Award, and the Best Reviewer Award at the Academy of Management Conference. At the CCB, he has been recognized with the Outstanding Faculty Research Award (2012 and 2019), Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award (2013), Outstanding Pullman MBA Faculty Award (2016), and multiple Dean’s Excellence Awards over the years. Beyond research, Arvin is a passionate academic leader and advocate for inter- and transdisciplinary approaches that integrate insights from multiple disciplines to address complex issues. He has led seminars aimed at equipping participants with integrative analytical reasoning, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and professional adaptability to address contemporary and emerging societal needs. He has served WSU and the Carson College of Business in various leadership roles, including Director of Interdisciplinary Studies Programs, Director of the WSU Entrepreneurship Skills & Knowledge Accelerator (WESKA), Entrepreneurial Faculty Ambassador, and Ph.D. Program Coordinator. From 2013 to 2016, he also served as a Senator in WSU’s Faculty Senate. Arvin’s mission is to serve humanity through innovative pursuits in pedagogy and research, while uplifting himself and others through meaningful academic and professional contributions.
