I am a Chemical Engineering undergraduate at the National University of Singapore (NUS) with experience spanning pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical devices, research, and healthcare operations. Through internships and research projects across pharma and medtech environments, including exposure at Novartis, I have gained experience in GMP-regulated manufacturing, process improvement, polymer processing, analytical R&D, and cross-functional operations involving QA, QC, production, and planning teams. My experiences include: • Pharmaceutical manufacturing and GMP operations at Brawn Laboratories • Medical device manufacturing and product benchmarking at SBRG Med Tech • Exposure to Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) operations in a global pharmaceutical environment • Undergraduate research in hydrogel wound dressings and protein purification at NUS • Exposure to biopharmaceutical engineering, process optimization, and healthcare manufacturing systems Alongside technical training, I have actively taken leadership roles through sports and university activities, including serving as Varsity Cricket Manager at NUS. I am particularly interested in pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals, medtech, and healthcare manufacturing, and I look forward to continuing to learn and grow within the healthcare industry.
• Supported projects related to pharmaceutical manufacturing, process monitoring, audit readiness, and continuous improvement within the MS&T function at Novartis Singapore Operations. • Worked cross-functionally with Manufacturing, QA, QC, and MS&T teams to understand operational workflows, compliance requirements, and process optimization initiatives. • Contributed to documentation, trend analysis, and process improvement activities in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment. • Gained exposure to technology transfer, validation practices, and operational excellence within a global pharmaceutical manufacturing setup.
Supported polymer processing and cleanroom assembly for IV cannula manufacturing, gaining practical exposure to manufacturability, unit economics, and key quality cost drivers. Conducted competitive benchmarking against global leaders such as BD and B. Braun to identify product gaps, positioning opportunities, and technology adoption areas. Collaborated with production, QA, QC, and planning teams to understand the end-to-end product lifecycle and process dependencies affecting timelines and service levels.
• Assisted in research focused on protein/peptide purification. • Contributed to process design improvements aimed at enhancing recovery rates in batch crystallization for protein purification. • Worked on mass balance calculations in optimizing recycle streams to boost overall recovery efficiency.
Gained comprehensive experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing operations across various departments, including procurement, inventory management, production, packaging, quality control, and utilities. Acquired practical insights into Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory compliance, while developing strong observation and problem-solving skills under the guidance of the Plant Head.
I interned at the analytical wing of Brawn Laboratories Ltd R&D department.
