GDSC is led by Chong Wei Qin who has vast experience in community development and application development skills. He was known for his accomplishment in Social Innovation Relay 2020 during his academic stint in ITE College Central: mentioned in the graduation speech by the Principal Mr Suresh Natarajan, mentioned in the address at the scholarship ceremony by Dr Maliki Osman and a Straits Time article commending and writing about his accomplishment. He has led creative strategies and applied business development skills in Team ACCESS, which clinched a championship among notable institutions, to name a few, Raffles Junior College, Nanyang Junior College. He went on to develop a chatbot using a third party software platform to prepare for the global stage and clinched a national championship for Team ACCESS.
On 23/09/2021 I was shortlisted into the Startup Immersion Project, a 4-weeks program working on a startup project.. The program will commence on Friday,24th Sep to Tuesday, 26th Oct. On 27/09/2021 I participated in Deloitte X JA – Lights, Communicate…ACTION! Composed of two modules with a theory and an activity-based format delivered virtually, targeted at university/poly/ ITE students and fresh graduates seeking entry-level employment ( aged 19 to 24 years). This programme will utilise drama techniques to deliver the desired outcomes of improving participants’ communication skills thus their career prospects and growth. Participants will benefit greatly from drama techniques because they are easy to understand and have the best impact. Working with art to create impact will be an enriching and exciting experience. On 25/03/2022 I took on leadership role to assist on stage happening for GSF. Global Startup Fest is a full-day hybrid entrepreneurship platform for aspiring young entrepreneurs to pitch their startup ideas to a panel of industry experts and audiences across ASEAN, China and India. On 09/04/2022 I represented Ngee Ann Poly as part of Canoeing Sprint for 2021 POL-ITE Canoe Sprint K2 1000m.
As a Cyber Defense Advisory Risk Consultant Intern at KPMG Singapore from September 2023 to October 2024, I conducted comprehensive API and web application vulnerability assessments (VAPT), identifying critical security weaknesses. I executed penetration testing using advanced techniques and a diverse toolkit, including Burp Suite Professional, Nessus, Postman, Kali Linux tools, open-source software, and manual methods such as HTTP pollution and Cache Storage analysis. My responsibilities included providing detailed, actionable remediation recommendations through thorough documentation, drawing from complex system analysis and meticulous testing, all while applying OWASP industry standards to effectively assess and mitigate security risks.
