Consultancy on accountancy and taxation matters to businesses and other accountancy practices. Advising on all business matters from saving costs to implementing efficient accounting and tax functions. Advising on tax efficient profit extraction, succession and exit planning, business incorporations, reorganisations, business acquisitions and disposals, remuneration planning, other tax mitigation, dealing with general enquiries to in depth investigations of direct and indirect taxes.
Partner responsible for the Finance function. Introduced streamlining production methods, electronic accounting and quotation system and workflow management. Duties included overseeing the accounting function, preparing annual accounts, supervising the collection of debts and payments to creditors, managing cash flows and dealing with the partnership's bankers. Overseeing the bookkeeping, payroll and VAT functions. Submission and agreement of partnership and personal tax returns.
Implementation of direct and indirect tax reporting packs. Consultancy on compliance and tax mitigation. Dealing with HMRC enquiries and assisting in VAT Group returns. Advising on acquisitions and disposals. Liaising with external accountancy and legal advisers.
Supervised a team of 18 to 20 staff. Duties included advising clients on direct and indirect tax matters within fee restraints and ensuring collection of outstanding fees
