The firm specializes in property law. As an intern here, I studied various Bare Acts related to the transfer of property, including the Registration and Income Tax Act, and a few additional statutes. My work primarily involved assisting associates by drafting and researching cases. In the first week, I learned how to draft and complete assignments, identifying inconsistencies that provided a clear picture of what a perfect document should look like. From the second week, I drafted multiple Sale Deeds, Rectification Deeds, General Power of Attorney (documents), and Wills. documents declined more towards non-testamentary documents. Apart from this, I also assisted the associates at the firm by filing missing reports on documents and listening to them communicate with clients. To scale my entire learning from here, I ran across more than 50 non-testamentary documents and had the opportunity to draft more than 15-20 documents ready for registration.
During my internship at KSLSA, a statutory body under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, I gained hands-on experience in public legal service delivery. My work included legal research, court observations, visits to jail clinics, juvenile justice boards, and legal aid clinics. I actively engaged with underrepresented communities, observed the functioning of Lok Adalats, and contributed to legal awareness initiatives. This experience deepened my understanding of access to justice and strengthened my commitment to public interest law.
