About

Hi everyone, My name is Armandeep Singh, and I am a fourth-year Honours Bachelor of Science student at the University of Toronto, pursuing a double major in Human Biology and Biochemistry. I am deeply interested in healthcare, research, education, and community leadership, with a strong commitment to advancing health equity, wellness, and access to an affordable education for all. On campus, I serve as a Chemistry Laboratory Teaching Assistant and a Facilitated Study Group Leader, where I support students through hands-on instruction, collaborative learning, and academic mentorship. These roles have strengthened my ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly while creating inclusive and supportive learning environments. My research interests span environmental health, cardiovascular risk, behavioural neuroscience, and science education. I am currently completing a supervised research project on heavy metal exposure and cardiovascular risk in South Asian populations, and I previously contributed to research projects involving immersive virtual reality in chemistry education and octopamine-mediated modulation of mating calls in crickets. I am also the Founder and President of the HEAL Club, a student organization focused on mental health advocacy, peer support, and student well-being. Through this role, along with my work as a Substance Awareness Peer and EmpowerU Facilitator with the Health & Wellness Centre, I have helped promote evidence-informed wellness programming, reduce stigma, and create safe spaces for students to discuss mental health and stress. Beyond research, teaching, and advocacy, I have experience in STEM outreach, tutoring, student engagement, and university events. With a long-term goal of pursuing a career in medicine, I hope to integrate scientific knowledge, education, leadership, and compassionate service to make a meaningful impact in patient care and community health. It is a pleasure to connect with you!
