I plan on pursuing a career in medicine with a focus on cardiovascular research. In the future, I hope to combine my expertise in molecular genetics and computer science.
Responsible for completing projects on clinical outcomes in cardiothoracic and general surgery. Collaboration with medical students and surgical residents. Utilization of statistical software (Stata and Python) to analyze national/institutional databases for submission to national conferences and prestigious surgical journals. Proficient in machine learning and manuscript preparation.
Designed a high-throughput screen for RBM20 induced dilated cardiomyopathy. Proficient in multiple molecular biology techniques, including stem cell culture/differentiation, CRISPR genome editing, PCR, cloning, transformation, and gel electrophoresis.
Studied the drug-resistant mechanisms of the MDR65 protein in wild-type and cancerous intestinal stem cells through midgut dissections of Drosophila Melanogaster. Established protocol for Drosophila brain dissections to study the protective role of MDR65 in the blood-brain barrier. Introduced new microinjection technique to the lab for dye or drug brain assays.
Designed a capacitance sensor array for watch-like blood pressure sensors. Collected and analyzed over 1 million points of test data. Developed a novel model to simulate radial artery pulse for testing.
