Directly responsible for the offices in the Benelux and Scandinavian countries on a day to day basis such as strategic planning and real estate projects, critical environment management, facilities management, ancillary services and support travel management, procurement and security. Following Novell’s merger in April 2011 with The Attachmate Group, I have been consolidating, refurbishing and closing of offices in Germany, Switzerland France as well as in my own countries.
Direct responsibility for the management and delivery of all aspects of the facilities, including supporting security, travel and procurement services for all offices (including sub tenants) located in the region. My first priority and challenge was to resolve the long lasting air conditioning problems in the European datacentre and Capelle office. Soon I was involved in a large reorganization project during which I had to close the office in Belgium. I managed to turn this into down scaling the office in Brussels to 4 desks thus satisfying the needs of the Belgian Employees. Devices and furniture of the telephone helpdesk were moved to Prague and finally I was charged with the sale of the Capelle office.
The Amsterdam office serves more than 350 people and is open 7 days a week 24 hours a day. I was responsible for operations within the department of General Services, looking after the archive, copy services, handyman services, mail room, internal removals, stock management and goods reception, as well as making sure all domestic tasks were performed in a correct and timely manner. I also covered the role of Project Manager for specific projects.
The Strip is especially designed to support open innovation, allowing engineers to meet each other here to share lunch, experiences and ideas. As a project account manager working for Dishcovery Catering Company (activity of the Compass Group Nederland BV), my tasks were to start up , develop, and implement the 7 different commercial food concepts present in The Strip.
Dishcovery Catering Company became an independent company in 1996, emerging from the previously in-house servicing of the ABN AMRO Bank NV. My job as a support manager consisted in coordinating the catering activities in several ABN AMRO head offices until I was appointed account manager to followed new clients, amongst which was the Holland Casino, one of the first contracts we won. As a member of the project group HACCP certificate I was also actively involved in the writing and execution of the HACCP Certification.
