I support southern-based development research, currently in the FCDO-IDRC program on Climate Adaptation and Resilience (CLARE). Earlier I focused on responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, integrating climate and gender equity considerations into policy analysis. I led the IDRC GrOW program on women’s economic empowerment. I worked at UK's DFID, the ISS in The Hague, Sussex University and published and taught on social policy in development contexts, labor migration, social inequalities, and the aid industry.
Focus on supporting innovative research that contributes to sustainable and inclusive economies, to address the barriers that marginalized groups experience in economic opportunities, promoting low-carbon economic paths, including in the recovery from the current pandemic.
As Acting Director, I oversaw four IDRC public policy research programs, and was co-author of IDRC's 2030 strategy
