About

I am an Illustrator, Visual Designer, Animation Art Director, Academic, Design Researcher and Senior Lecturer in Illustration and Animation at the School of Art and Design, Adelaide University, Adelaide, South Australia. I have a focus on visual communication, illustration and animation - how they can help transform and communicate across biodiversity and science, education, histories and heritage, social work and health. I am passionate about design as well as the ability to think and experience visually. My forthcoming book 'Illustration and Cultural Production: An investigation into creative practice' will be published with Bloomsbury in 2028. My illustration work can be found on my website. My research is practice-based and interrogates and scope out the socio-cultural positioning of illustrators and their construction of knowledge in the design process and their illustration practice. How our past experiences impact our present perceptions of practice. I am also a singer/songwriter and have released music under the banner of 'Threebirds Records', an label managed with Joseph Cheek. My Music can be found on spotify.
