Cambridge MB/PhD student with a B.A. in Pharmacology (ranked 1st in cohort). I have completed three years of pre-clinical medicine and one year of clinical medicine. My PhD is focused on characterising the mechanisms by which tumour interstitial fluid suppresses anti-tumour immune responses, with the aim of identifying novel drug targets which may enhance the efficacy of anti-cancer immunotherapies used in the clinic. Beyond my research, I have been teaching second and third year pharmacology at Christ’s College and Magdalene College since 2022 and oversee the teaching of third year Pharmacology, Physiology, and Pathology at Christ's College. I am also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). In addition, I serve as a student representative on the Christ’s College Medical Alumni Association, working to organise events for the student medical society in collaboration with the college fellowship and alumni. My studies at Cambridge are supported by an A*STAR MB/PhD scholarship.
Working to determine the molecular mechanisms of T cell immunosuppression by tumour interstitial fluid, interrogating how tumour derived anti-oxidant proteins suppress T cell activation. Performing genome-wide CRISPR screens to elucidate novel mechanisms of immunosuppression.
I arrange and oversee the organisation and delivery of skills-based supervisions for Part II students in Pharmacology, Physiology and Pathology. Involves identifying topics, supervisors, and responding to student feedback. Promoted after 2 years of supervising pharmacology.
Teaching third year medical and natural sciences students pharmacology (part II). In 2023, I began teaching the second year Mechanisms of Drug Action (MODA) course at Christ's, supervising second year medical students. Awarded a Christ's College Teaching Award for excellent teaching delivered in the 2023-2024 academic year.
Teaching second year medical and veterinary students pharmacology (part IB), as part of the Mechanisms of Drug Action course. In 2023, I also began teaching third year pharmacology (part II) at Magdalene.
The Christ's College Medical Society represents the interests of all medical students in Christ's College (years 1-6). I worked to organise Medical Society events together with the President and was primarily responsible for maintaining communication with the medical students in Christ's College.
