Final year Anthropology and Archaeology BA student

About

I have recently completed my anthropology and archaeology BA at The University of Bristol. I have was a course rep which involves attending meetings and relaying information between students and staff. I was also the president of the recently re-affiliated Bristol Archaeology and Anthropology Society, and was archaeology representative this year. In addition, I am the performance director of The Bristol Suspensions, competing at the ICCAs and preparing for Edinburgh Fringe. I previously and consistently volunteered weekly with Parkrun whilst also learning BSL and frequenting gym sessions as part of my gold DofE award and attended the award ceremony at Buckingham Palace. I worked in an antique book store at the weekend which was a great insight into how a business is run and a team operates, and now contributes to my role as a volunteer in an Oxfam bookshop. My volunteer experience with junior Parkrun and junior dance classes too has helped me work better with younger children and enhance my skills in teaching and coaching. I am able to utilise this in my role as student ambassador with the university in which I engage with young people frequently. I spent some time at Wollaton Hall in Nottingham for work experience as well as taking part in an excavation in my local area which was so interesting and inspiring, leading me to apply for archaeology and anthropology at university. Having now completed two excavations with SWARP and volunteering in the archaeology lab to assist with further projects, I would like to continue archaeology in a post-grad capacity. Museums and archiving seems really interesting prospect I would love to get more involved with as I have found great passion in working at the Clifton Suspension Bridge Museum with archivist Hannah Little. I’m looking forward to my third year and getting stuck in with the dissertation project.
